Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg says the movie’s original ending was similar to Captain America: Civil War. Fox’s mainline X-Men films reach their conclusion this week with Dark Phoenix, which is the final X-Men movie that started production before Disney’s purchase of Fox’s movie and television assets. And although the studio still has its New Mutants spinoff in the pipeline and scheduled for release in 2020, the film is expected to have few (if any) direct connections to the X-Men prequel series that Dark Phoenix belongs to....

Crisis on Infinite Earths had a surprise for eager Smallville viewers with Tom Welling’s appearance as Clark Kent, aka Superman. HBO has ordered a pilot for a new half-hour comedy, The Righteous Gemstones, from Danny McBride, which will see him starring alongside John Goodman. Executive produced by frequent McBride collaborators Jody Hill and David Gordon Green, the potential series would be the third starring McBride to air on the premium cable channel. McBride led Eastbound and Down for four seasons, beginning in 2009, and then he returned for two seasons of Vice Principals, co-starring Walton Goggins, in 2016....

In a statement on Saturday, the Florida hospital system said that in addition to names, addresses and phone numbers, Social Security numbers, bank account information and medical history data was included in the breach. Insurance account information, driver’s license numbers, email addresses and treatments received were also included. The hospital system said it waited months to notify victims because the Department of Justice told them to hold off on sending out breach notification letters....

The final scene of the latest episode of Arrow, “Present Tense,” may have just introduced the Anti-Monitor ahead of Crisis on Infinite Earths. The plot of Arrow season 8 has centered upon Oliver Queen, as he travels across time and space to aid the cosmic being known as the Monitor in preparing for an approaching crisis that threatens the entire multiverse.
