Netflix has released the full-length (and final) trailer for its upcoming prequel series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Thirty-seven years after Jim Henson and Frank Oz’s The Dark Crystal opened in theaters, the cult fantasy property is getting a new lease on life thanks to Age of Resistance. Directed by Louis Leterrier (Clash of the Titans, Now You See Me) and co-created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (with assistance from co-executive producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach), the Netflix series takes place long before the events of the original movie (and, in turn, the Skeksis’ attempt to prevent a prophecy involving a Gelfling hero from coming true)....

Dark Phoenix marks the 13th installment into the X-Men film franchise if you include both Deadpool and Deadpool 2. The majority of these movies were well received by critics. The first trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s mother! has arrived. The dark thriller is set to arrive in theaters next month, having had its release date moved up by Paramount from October to September. The Cyberpunk 2077 world map size has been partially revealed in a new Deluxe Edition art book made by developer CD Projekt Red for the game, and it reveals a complicated Night City layout that will likely also be much bigger than it looks. CD Projekt Red has already discussed Cyberpunk 2077 map size in the past, revealing that the game will be smaller than the world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, while also providing strong reasoning for why that design decision will benefit the game when it finally releases in early 2020....

Season 1 of Netflix’s Daredevil series pitted the titular superhero against his arch-nemesis, Wilson Fisk (a.k.a. Kingpin). The pairing was an obvious choice given their long history in the Marvel comics upon which the show was based, but for season 2 the show is expanding beyond Fisk to introduce a new challenge for Matt Murdock. The show’s depiction of Fisk was a little more nuanced than in the comic books, portraying him as a flawed individual who justified his violent misdeeds as the means to an end goal of cleaning up Hell’s Kitchen....

War has been revealed as a playable character alongside Strife in the upcoming game Darksiders Genesis, and it’s been announced two people will be able play together simultaneously in a co-op mode. Developed by Airship Syndicate and published by THQ Nordic, Genesis is a top-down hack-and-slash which acts as a prequel to the Darksiders series, which depicted a war between Heaven and Hell that prematurely brought on the apocalypse. Although the first three mainstream games all took place during roughly the same time period, Darksiders Genesis is set thousands of years in the past and tells the story of how the Four Horsemen were tasked with both the destruction of the Nephilim and then the eradication of Hell’s master demons after the fall of Eden....

But now it seems that a new alternative is on the works, as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has stepped in the game, as well. The agency is said to work on a “radically” new technology that will offer real-time position tracking and will work despite blind spots or jamming efforts. As you’d expect, DARPA is looking to come up with this new tech which would be of great use to the US Military....

Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster The Dark Knight Trilogy is coming to select IMAX theaters in honor of Batman’s 80th anniversary. Nolan’s trio of Batman films, starting with 2005’s franchise-reviving Batman Begins and ending with 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises, took in a total of $2.4 billion at the global box office. Warner Bros. first brought the Caped Crusader to the big screen with Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, but after a string of successful sequels the franchise hit the rocks with 1997’s notorious flop Batman & Robin....

Fans of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy have something to celebrate now that series creator, David Collins, has brought a reboot to Netflix! The new series, simply titled Queer Eye, is revamping the format with a few twists here and there to make something new to suit the zeitgeist. Dolph Lundgren reveals that an early draft of Creed II featured Carl Weathers’ Apollo Creed returning as a ghost. Released in 2015, Ryan Coogler’s Creed breathed new life into the Rocky franchise by bringing together Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa with Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed, the son of deceased Rocky character Apollo. In 2018, Creed 2 continued the story of Adonis while bringing back other key characters from the franchise’s past, including Lundgren’s hulking Russian boxer Ivan Drago....
