Cultured Code’s task management app Things has yet to receive an update on iPhone or iPad to fit in with Apple’s design direction introduced with iOS 7 as a major new version has long been in development, but it looks like users of Things will soon get a bit of relief in the form of an iOS 8 system extension.
A preview of the iOS 8 extension for Things has been added to the company’s status board for the app and shows text being copied and pasted from a website on Safari directly into a new entry on Things without leaving the web browser.
According to Culture Code’s status board, the Things extension will arrive on iOS with the release of Things 2.5, which is currently in internal alpha testing.
For now, a bug fix in the form of Things 2.3 has been submitted to the App Store for approval to address some issues with the app on iOS 8, and Things users will soon have access to the current keyboard as iOS 8 forces it on apps not yet updated.
Things 3, which will feature a new design and set of features, is still currently internally labeled as in alpha, according to Cultured Code’s status board.

Although the update is yet to be submitted, Things 2 can be found on the App Store for iPhone ($9.99) and iPad ($19.99).

iOS 8 is expected to be released to the public shortly after Apple’s anticipated iPhone event scheduled for September 9th. We’ll keep you posted on that and the latest apps taking advantage of iOS 8’s new technologies.
