Ashley Scott is the latest former DC star joining the Arrowverse’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, as she’ll reprise her role as Huntress from the 2002 Birds of Prey TV series. For fans of The CW’s expansive small-screen universe, the annual crossovers have become a highlight. This year, they are doing their most ambitious one yet, as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman will all take part in the crossover. The five-episode event will star the main cast members from each of these shows, but it will also be loaded with former DC roles.

The abundance of cameos is possible thanks to the multiverse-centric story, which will see the Anti-Monitor destroy different realities. As a result, Crisis on Infinite Earths will see many fan-favorite interpretations of DC characters back on the screen. Most recently, it was confirmed that the Smallville’s Tom Welling will appear as Superman, as well as the show’s Lois Lane with Erica Durance. Now, the latest addition to the crossover marks the return of a short-lived entry in DC’s small screen history.

As reported by TVLine, Ashley Scott is set to reprise her role as Helena Kyle aka Huntress from the 2000s Birds of Prey TV series. Scott only appeared in the 13 episode series back in 2002 alongside Dina Meyer as Batgirl and Rachel Skarsten as Black Canary. The show was canceled after just one season, so now Scott will get the chance to return to the role 17 years later through Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Scott returning as Huntress makes her the first version of this character confirmed to be in the crossover. The Arrowverse already introduced the main-Earth’s version of Huntress in Arrow, as Jessica De Gouw played her in the first two seasons of the series. She is still alive in-universe (as far as we know), but there’s no word yet if she’ll also appear and give fans a chance to see two versions of Huntress together. It is also unknown if Scott’s return signals a larger return for the Birds of Prey cast as a whole, but it is possible that Meyer and Skarsten could also reprise their roles.

Regardless of whether or not Scott is joined by her Birds of Prey cast members, the cast of Crisis on Infinite Earths continues to pull in all aspects of DC’s past. The crossover will bring Black Lightning into the fold, and will also see Kevin Conroy play Bruce Wayne in live-action after years of voicing the character in animation. Meanwhile, other recognizable DC actors like Burt Ward, John Wesley Shipp, and possibly Lynda Carter will also appear. The event is even giving Brandon Routh a chance to play Superman again, but this time as the Kingdom Come version of the Kryptonian. If the recent wave of announcements is anything to go by, then Scott is unlikely to be the last one to join this year’s Arrowverse crossover.
